Thriller! Wait no suspense... wait no dark fantasy too

Helloooooo! I can't believe it's already the last week of the project!

Yesterday, Kaylin and I attempted to start our CCR's in class, but then were hit with the question... "what genre is our film opening?" We originally had the idea that it was a thriller involving witchcraft, but then we eventually narrowed it down to suspense. But then after thinking about it for awhile and doing research on dark fantasy, I texted Kaylin and questioned our choice and insisted that it's dark fantasy as well.

Dark fantasy combines fantasy (witches, magic, summonings) with a sense of dread, and dark atmosphere. In our film opening, we combined the unsettling disappearance of the woman's boyfriend with the eeriness and obscurity of the woman receiving a box full of items alluding to the use of sorcery.

Throughout the opening, the music we choose also hints at a sense of darkness, further enhancing the suspense and dark fantasy elements to it.

My next blogpost is going to be my CCR and film opening so get ready!

Happy witching hour!
